Grand Opening of COL's Shanghai Business Continuity Centre
One Service, Two Cities

COL, an IT services subsidiary of Wharf T&T and a leading IT solutions provider in Hong Kong, today announced the grand opening of its Shanghai Business Continuity Centre (BC Centre). Together with its Hong Kong centres, COL is now able to offer managed cross-boundary continuity solutions for enterprises with offices in both Hong Kong and China.

The newly expanded Wharf COL centre is able to provide all-round disaster recovery and business continuity solutions to all kind of businesses in the event of service disruptions that may happen as a result of IT virus attacks, natural disasters or terrorism. The centre is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, robust telecommunication infrastructure and tailor-made facilities including dealing rooms and control rooms which are ideal for financial institutions where recovery of their critical operation is essential.

The total area of the newly expanded Wharf COL centre exceeds 10,000 square feet, occupying 3 storeys of the Group's property-Shanghai Times Square. The centre provides plenty of seat positions to banks and financial institutions which can be activated within 4 hours.

Since commencement of our Shanghai centre operation, the availability service level of our business recovery service has attained over 99.9%. "

The Shanghai centre follows the same operation mode and deploys the same stringent quality standards as the Hong Kong. Both Shanghai and Hong Kong centres are strategically located in a site with substantial distance from the central business district to avoid the disruption of power, water and telecommunications. Moreover, high accessibility via public transport is another key characteristic of our centres. Together with the privilege of a stable leasing environment and flexibility in the centre design being the Group managed property, COL is able to gain competitive advantages in managing business continuity and disaster recovery services in Shanghai and Hong Kong. The Shanghai Wharf COL business continuity centre offers recovery plan development, backup computer systems and disaster recovery rehearsals which are tailored for financial and banking institutions. Currently, COL has over 75% market share in the Shanghai outsourced overseas banking industry.
