WTT Gains LOOP Platinum Accolade 3 Years in a Row
Crafting a Low-Carbon Office Environment for Sustainable Success

Hong Kong — Dec 11, 2018 — WTT again scores an outstanding environmental-friendly rating by attaining Low-Carbon Office Operation Program (LOOP) Platinum Label in 3 consecutive years. The prestigious Platinum Label is the highest accolade of the LOOP scheme under WWF-Hong Kong.

Through extensive efforts in participating in LOOP and adhering to its 4C principle – “Commit”, “Calculate”, “Cut” and “Communicate”, WTT successfully reduced carbon emission levels and demonstrated an encouraging result with a 3.7% average annual reduction in carbon emission per capita compared with the based year.

WTT has a standout performance record in the LOOP scheme, being the first ICT service provider to be awarded Gold Label back in 2010 and first achieved Platinum Label in 2016. During the past year, WTT actively initiated a number of well-received environmental protection actions including Exchange and Donate Programs of books, school bags, shoes, housewares and kitchen utensils, and e-Commuting Campaign to calculate the accurate emission level for developing better low-carbon strategies, as staff commuting to and from work is one of our major emission sources. The printing system within WTT had also been upgraded and new policies were implemented to let colleagues “think twice before print”, which in turn significantly slashed paper usage.

Maintaining low-carbon operations is a pillar in WTT’s philosophy and values and we never cease to carry it forward,” said Florence Cheung, Vice President, Human Resources of WTT. “It is simply a responsibility of anyone who is taking advantage of our natural surroundings. I appreciate our colleagues’ sheer determination in protecting the environment, and the 3-in-a-row LOOP Platinum achievement is an encouraging recognition for their contributions.”

The LOOP programme has been established by WWF-Hong Kong to recognise the efforts and contribution of companies in implementing green initiatives to combat climate change and reduce operation-related greenhouse gas emissions. For more information about LOOP, please visit https://loop.wwf.org.hk/.
