WTT’s Brand Transformation Journey Gained Regional Recognition through Triple Successes in the Transform Awards

Hong Kong — Dec 14, 2017 —  WTT scored a triumphant hat-trick in the Transform Awards Asia-Pacific 2017 for its recent rebranding, winning three trophies including the Gold Award for “Best Brand Evolution”. The Transform Awards Asia-Pacific are an APAC regional contest dedicated to brand repositioning, development and transformation.

WTT also took home a Silver Award in “Best Visual Identity from the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Sector”, and a Bronze Award in “Best Corporate Rebrand Following a Merger or an Acquisition”.

Following the change of ownership in November 2016, quick rebranding action was taken for WTT. MerchantCantos, a renowned international brand specialist, was invited to design a complete facelift for the WTT brand identity while retaining the former brand’s spirit and quintessence. The rebranding was launched on 15 June 2017. Brighter red and blue corporate colour tones were chosen for the key visual elements to represent a refreshed brand identity. After rebranding, the red flying bird logo of WTT is empowered with a new burst of energy.

Six finalists from across Australia, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong were made to compete in the ‘Best Brand Evolution’ category, and we are proud that WTT’s rebranding campaign stood out from this fierce competition to become the most impressive among all. WTT and MerchantCantos’ mutual success in the Transform Awards perfectly matches with our new company tagline – Winning Together,” said Ms Samantha Lee, Head of Corporate Communications of WTT.

Transform Awards Asia-Pacific is held by Transform, the only global magazine for rebranding and brand development. The Awards applaud best practices in brand development or rebranding projects of the past year that were rolled out in at least one of the 18 selected Asia Pacific regions, or targeting APAC audience. 22 creative masterminds from the marketing, communications or brand development sectors formed the judging panel.
