WTT Achieved Sustainability Award and Named a LOOP Platinum Label ICT Service Provider 2 Years in a Row

Hong Kong — Dec 5, 2017 —  WTT has been awarded the Platinum Label – the highest accolade under the Low-Carbon Office Operation Program (LOOP) organised by WWF-Hong Kong for the second consecutive year. It has also achieved the Certificate of Excellence in the Hong Kong Sustainability Award 2016/17 organised by the Hong Kong Management Association.

WWF-Hong Kong held its first Corporate Sustainability Summit & Award Presentation in November 2017 acknowledging its business partners from the CMP, LOOP and LCMP programmes for committing to implement climate change solutions. The event brought hundreds of businesses and corporate members together to share best practices in corporate sustainability and related environmental issues. WTT was honoured to be one of the participants and awardees attending this remarkable event.

WTT pioneered in becoming the first ICT service provider in Hong Kong to gain the Gold Label and the Platinum Label in 2011 and 2016 respectively. Last year’s Platinum debut making WTT an industry role model in creating a sustainable office environment. WTT’s Platinum attainment in 2017 signifies that with a strong will to establish a green office, occasional activities and events as immense as a corporate rebranding campaign are not obstacles to organisations in their go-green journeys.

In the same month, WTT was also awarded the Certificate of Excellence of the Hong Kong Sustainability Award 2016/17 by the Hong Kong Management Association. Ms. Florence Cheung, Vice President, Human Resources of WTT said, “We are proud that WTT has achieved the LOOP Platinum Label and the Sustainability Award in this very special year, when the company rebranding happened in mid-year. Despite extra activities associated with the rebranding campaign, the total CO2 emission of WTT’s office had decreased by 0.5% compared with last year’s result. The two honours we gained are substantial recognitions of WTT’s spirit and strenuous efforts in entrenching sustainability into our operation and making the office a greener place regardless of additional activities and events that we have to complete.”

LOOP is a labelling scheme initiated by WWF-Hong Kong to recognise the efforts and contribution of companies in implementing green initiatives to combat climate change and reduce operation-related greenhouse gas emissions. For more information about LOOP, please visit https://loop.wwf.org.hk/.

The Hong Kong Sustainability Award organised by the Hong Kong Management Association inspires organisations to entrench sustainability into their operation and culture, and is granted to organisations which demonstrate commitment to all three key elements (Economic, Social and Environment) of sustainability, while achieving good business and organisational performance.
